Revo Portable vs Installed
Compare profile storage, updates, permissions, removable-drive use, and operational tradeoffs.
Revo Uninstaller is a Windows utility developed by VS Revo Group. Version-sensitive features should be checked against primary documentation before a decision.
Installed versus portable operation
An installed edition is the straightforward choice for a regularly used PC: it fits the ordinary Windows application workflow and can be found in the installed-program list. Portable editions are intended for workflows where running from an extracted folder or removable storage is valuable. Product licensing and edition capabilities still apply.
Before using a portable copy
- Check the edition and its permitted use rather than assuming any archive is freeware.
- Use a trusted local folder or removable device and ensure it has enough space for configuration data.
- Confirm that security policies on a work-managed PC allow execution from removable storage.
- Keep exported logs and backup files in a location you can restore later.
Portable programs may still need administrator privileges to remove system-wide applications. For feature differences see Free vs Pro.
