Revo Scan Modes Explained
Compare conservative and broader scans and understand why more findings do not always mean better cleanup.
The word leftover describes location and timing, not safety. A file or registry value that remains after uninstall may be harmless, shared, or contain user data. Evidence and a recovery path should come before deletion.
Safe, Moderate and Advanced scans
The Revo Uninstaller Pro manual describes three leftover-scan levels: Safe focuses on faster scanning; Moderate expands the areas searched; and Advanced performs a deeper scan that may take longer. A more extensive result list does not mean that every detected Registry entry or folder should be removed.
How to choose a level
- For an ordinary completed uninstall, begin conservatively and verify whether any additional action is needed.
- For a known damaged installation, collect evidence of the exact program folder and publisher before a broader scan.
- When a result points to a shared component, multiple users or a broad Registry parent key, leave it untouched until ownership is clear.

Questions and answers
Is Advanced scan always best?
No. It searches more locations, which can increase the number of results that require manual checking.
